Would The Club Welcome A Take Over Bid?
Lets face it, its happening-and has happened-at all levels of the game, from Chelsea and Man Utd, through Villa and West Ham and into Portsmouth, Leicester, Peterborough...can we been seen as a good investment and how much would it cost to buy out Delia, MWJ etc?
Assuming its clearing debts and providing ??? for investment. Would have to be, I would imagine, at least ?20 Million-but are the club worth that and are we a good enough investment opportunity?
As we look to be seriously financially restricted for the next few years, you'd like to think that a serious and comitted offer -if one came along- would be seriously considered, but I do wonder if the board would frown upon it and churn out the old "we're a family club line" and hold it at that.
Obviously Delia and MWJ can't have their position of power forever, and, whatever happens, it does make you wonder what the long term prospects and plans for the club are.
