Most play badly in the reserves

The senior players usually give the worst performances in reserve games in my opinion.

I know this is a one-off game (but he hasn't exactly been blessed with chances to play), but I still think that Jarvis gave one of the best strikers performances of last season when he came on for the second half at Luton. He had pace, passion and a desire to score, which should be a given but isn't always.

If he was given a run of games (even as a substitute) and he could play like he did in that game, then he would be a useful player to have. Until he is given a proper run in the first team, we just don't know whether he is good enough.
