A cold, hard assessment
Team selection 1: Anyone who has seen Norwich play for the past three years will know that Hucks simply doesn't perform on the right. Never has, and never will. Grant hasn't been watching us for three years, but Doug Livermore has...
Team selection 2: Safri. OK, so it's fairly clear that Grant has some sort of a problem with Saf, and it's fariyl well known that Saf is a difficult character. However, even though he's underperformed this season, he's head and shoulders above any of our other midfielders. We lacked bite and cohension in midfield, which is what he brings.
Worrying team selection trends from Grant.
Player ratings:
Gallacher - 7. Did nothing wrong, made a couple of half decent stops and could do nothing about the goal.
Drury - 6. Did OK, nothign special but no real f**k ups.
Dublin - 8. Very solid, should have been playing last week. Our best player by a distance.
Colin - 7. One of his better games for Norwich.
Hucks - 6. Out of position, did much better when switched to the left, which is where he should have started.
Robinson - 6. One of his better games in terms of ball retention, but no real penetration.
Etuhu - 3. Was he playing?
Eagle - 5. Two good crosses but that's it. A bit one-paced and lightweight, but may improve.
McVeigh - 3. Just go.
Earnshaw - 7. Another well-taken goal and worked his socks off second half.
Thorne - 7. Did a good job when he came on, helped set up the goal. Maybe should have started
Hughes - 4. Did nothing.
All in all, pretty dire.
