But best spinner for what purpose?

Monty's the best we've had for a while, but he's hardly taken the world by storm. And Brisbane doesn't offer much to a finger spinner, and he's not been that impressive in the warm up games. And he's an attacking spinner, whereas Giles can block up an end, be difficult to score off, frustrate the batsmen and make them take chances against the other end. And that means Giles can do long spells, allowing us to rotate Harmy/Fred/Anderson/Hogster.

Not an easy decision, but I can understand picking Giles. But I can't understand picking Jones over Read, when Read is just as good with the bat and infinitely better with the gloves!
