That's rubbish!
For the majority of the game, and particularly in the second half, balls were just being lumped aimlessly into the Ipswich half - Gallacher in particular was guilty of this, endless goal-kicks towards Earnshaw's head.
This is why City fans started chanting for Dion before he came on, we needed someone up there to hold the ball up and get others into the game. Unfortunately when he came on, there was a lack of support around him - players seemed scared to make a run, or challenge for the ball when it mattered.
We're crying out for a central midfield 'bastard' - someone that can boss the middle of the park and get others involved when necessary. We've got quality on the flanks and up front, but if we can't supply them we might as well not have them on the pitch.
We also need a quality centre back that's able to organise those around him - Dublin's great at this, but he's old...we need to be getting someone in that can we know is able to stay at the club for a few years and grow with the team.
Those sort of players aren't necessarily cheap, but we should be able to pick up both for under two million I'd have thought (Holt and Mackay, for example, cost less than an Andy Hughes between them).
