What I meant to conclude with was this

it's probably a two-way thing. Players read message boards, they talk to each other and half of them know we think they're s**t and wish they'd just piss off.

And while there's no way do they make a conscious decision to roll over in a local derby, the whole player/fan relationship at this club at the moment is awry, and the only way to change it is to get shot of half a dozen of them (if we can find someone to buy them/take them away in a house clearance type sale) and get some new blood in, even if that destabilises things in the short term.
