Young Manager
Some perplexing decisions taken by our young manager today, not the least of which was bringing back Doherty for the in-form Dublin. Decisions like that take some explaining and I suppose Grant can always play the "He was carrying a slight knock injury" card.
Worthington made a lot of mistakes in his early career and continued to do so throughout his time here. His problem was that he never seemed to learn from them, making the same ones over and over again.
Grant now has to prove that he can learn from his mistakes a lot quicker than Worthy ever did otherwise his tenure here will be very short lived. What this club does not need is a Worthy MKII.
Derby defeats are always difficult to stomach so I am not going to go over the top on this one on the back of victories over Sunderland and WBA. I would say however, that the experiment with 4-5-1 (it is not 4-3-3) and go back to 4-4-2 to give Earnie the support he needs. Grant also has to find a natural leader in the middle of the park - Neither Etuhu, Robinson nor Safri have leadership qualities.
That is all.
