Bittorrent5 or stream it. Email is not a good option.
Getting it down to 26MB is pretty good. I would use MPEG4 compression to get maximum quality at smallest size. But emailing a movie is a bit mad. That is why sites stream the file to you. At least you get to watch it while the transfer takes place.
If the person you are sending to has broadband it technically would work and arrive. Your problem would be their/your mail host which normally limit the max file attachment size to 5MB.
Have you got some free webspace as part of you ISP package? I would copy (FTP) the file to a folder on your website and then send you friend(s) the link. They can then click and "save as" to get the file to their machine.
