...which is why I reckon it won't become common practice for every bank, people won't put up with it.
From the discussion last night on the radio and articles I've read today it seems you can escape the charge by either paying in ?1,500 a month, simply opening a savings account with them and putting in a pound a month - or by keeping your balance above ?1,500.
Given the state of most people's finances, perhaps this 'tax' on their current account will actually help reduce the 'debt crisis' that the media area always all to happy to comment on?
