I visited the War graves at Arnhem, Eindhoven, Venlo, Venray (if my memory serves me correctly) and all the graves were tended by local schoolchildren.

The thing about all the fuss surrounding Steve's post that does leave a nasty taste is that he opted to wind people up very cheaply by choosing to sully the memory of people that have laid down their lives (whether they be conscripts or not) for freedom and also the sacrifices made by the loved ones they left behind. I think most everyone has sufficient intelligence to know that they have the freedom of choice to support the RBL charity or not. They do not really need some Expat sat in the safety and comfort of Western Europe to tell them so. Everyone is entitled to their opinions though, even s**te ones. That's what people made the ultimate sacrifice for.
