...if we are following the Charlton plan, shouldn't we be building a team which is not only good enough to gain promotion but which will give us plenty of guys who can survive in the Prem so we only have to top up the squad with a few class investments when and if we get back there, in order to slowly stabilise ourselves as a Premiership team ?

Not sure how MLJ and yuor mate from Port Vale fit into that
