At Port Vale
Didn?t create nearly enough. Amazed that Croft lasted the full 120, but little end product from him. Impressed with Eagle ? looked busy and put in some decent crosses but we didn?t have enough bodies in the box.
There was a worrying lack of creativity from the midfield, and as pointed out last night why don?t we have a shot when in range. Only Etuhu seemed to be looking to have a pop from distance.
Shacks looked good again, but the Doc looked to be lapsing into his bad old habits ? not his best game.
We shouldn?t play 451 without Hucks. Jarvis looked completely lost out on the left and McVeigh is not the right sort of player for that position, assuming he is ever selected again. Perhaps Eagle should be given a chance there?
Impressed with the Grant sub ? 451 was not working and he changed it to 442 ? and immediately looked much better. I thought Safri was the right one to be subbed, regardless of if he was injured or not.
Disappointed that it was left to a couple of youngsters to take & miss pens. Where were the senior players, Etuhu, Doc, Croft when we needed volunteers?
And finally ? I had my photo taken with Gary Holt, saw him waiting in the refreshment queue at h/t next to XXL16. And if you noticed someone having his pic taken with the Port Vale mascot before the game started ? yes that was me as well.
