Nah, not really

I have to hold my hands up to anyone who wants to be a journo - sports, politics, anything. When I was in school (in the 70s) a teecher said I ought to go into journalism as I "turned an interesting phrase", but I rejected the idea out of hand as I doubted I'd ever be interested enough in anyone or anything to be able to write about it. And sure enough, I'd have been right.

I marvel at amateur journos (not pros, 'cos I reckon I could stump up a piece [of dross, probably] if I were being paid for it) who can compose thoughtful, readable pieces. Iwan Husarmi, for example, can make a game come alive. I couldn't do that: if I were to write a review of any game I'd been to it'd be along the lines of:

"Almost missed the start 'cos of a f**khead in a Cavalier who pulled out on the A???. Nowhere to park and my bruv was driving like a t**t. Got in just as they kicked off. Need new specs, couldn't see a thing. Hughes was s**t, nevertheless. Crap pies. Oh yeh - we lost. Southern c**ts."

As for actually interviewing somebody, that'd be: "So, hello Name Of Celeb: you all right then, are you? fancy a drink? No? Mind if I go for one?"
