Holty's consistency
He was indeed more consistent than Francis. Unfortunately it was in the wrong way. Holty was great for us in 2001/2 and deservedly won POTS. That should be acknowledged but not disguise the fact that football at the upper levels no longer has any place for people as limited as Holty. The game has moved on and if we as a club want to prosper we must too. He was hopelessly out of his depth last season, and the comaprison of our record with him playing and our record without him playing emphasises that. Its a shame that there is no room for sentiment in modern football but that unfortunately is the way it is. Holty's time was simply more than up and his departure is a sign that we are progressing as a club (assuming we do actually buy a few more midfielders rather than stacking up on forwards and defenders again)
