I a teacher. First year in job. Had our first footie game today

Small school. Only few boys in class. Picked all boys. One(not very good but really loves his footie) I took of at half time. We lost 7-0. His Mum comes at end of game and says that basically im a bastard for taking her son off and replacing him with a girl because im a man and i should know how it feels. Feel bit s**tty. Was i right to take him off or am i a bit of a bastard really?!
