I've said this all along,

England should never have appointed someone within the setup already as manager. the ideas were stale, players disinterested. By appointing McClaren, there were players in the setup who knew they were going to be in the squad and knew they didn't have to try too hard. If someone new had come in then that would have shaken the players up. ok McClaren got rid of Beckham but that is the only real thing he has done and i beleive it was partly for show.
