I think you've hit several nails on heads there
I'm sure a lot of other fans also worry about the lack of football knowledge of some important people at the club, including Delia
That press conference was very revealing as you pointed out, but Smith's lack of knowledge is already quite well known (not that I'm knowledgeable myself).
The cringe factor's often there when she's on TV, and the thought of that interview after the Man Utd game is not one I like to dwell on.
However, how many boards of clubs do have any profound knowledge of the game. I have no idea, but I'd hazard a guess that it's not many.
What she and the board should have though is a little more acumen for the business.
No targets given to Worthington? - surely that's the norm in the vast majority of jobs, and even more so in a goal-driven sport like this, if you'll pardon the pun.
It was also very interesting to read that WJ said the ridiculous statement was "as much by fans as by board members".
Aside from the fact that the target set out was rather ambiguous and obviously he was effectively being sacked, we obviously have much more influence that I thought.
Pity our influence wasn't felt when that nasty task should've been done months, if not years ago.
Anyway, I'm off to bed. But good stuff once again.
