so what...

happens to all managers at clubs with our resources eventually - it just isn't possible to have 6 good seasons.

Walker was sh*t his second time around here (and he walked out on us for Everton the first time) but he's still pretty popular.

Worthington was a mediocre manager who always did his best. If it wasn't always good enough so be it - happens to players too. If anything he overachieved for a few years here.

But he gave us at least as many pluses as minuses so the vitriol seems a bit unnecessary.

As has been said before, one of his main problems was actually that he raised expectations. But they were raised by his own successes. We had the play-off run and the Championship winning season. That all seemed a long way off when he took over. Name a club with similar size (and without multi-millionaire backers) who have achieved much more over the same period.

Since it is over and he has gone he has acted with considerable dignity - shame some fans can't do the same. But then I guess he's a bigger man than them....
