There seems to be a feeling

that we need a manager who has managed a big(ish) club before. I've heard a few people rule out Tilson as a result.
As i pointed out below Martin O'Neill had only managed Wycombe in non-league and div3 when we took him. A record of success playing good football in whatever league is what we want.
Anyone who is "successful" at our level already has a better job except maybe just maybe Curbishley.
Its like with players the "proven" premiership players we can get are the ones who didn't make it.
Much better to get someone from the lower leagues who has been successful so far and might be the next great manager than get in a has been or mediocrity of proven averageness.
