Some people, me included, were gutted when Malky was sold and have said consistently that

it was a mistake. I even posted under the name "Bring Back Malky" for a while.

I know he was slow but I stopped criticising him after seeing him lead our defensive line in the two FA Cup ties against Chelsea. You could see how much the others depended on him and just how reliable he was in terms of making sure everyone did their job. I could see he was essential and couldn't believe it when Worthy sold him.

Worthy was still in the honeymoon "he just got us promoted" phase so I didn't say "Worthy's a total t**t for doing this". But I did find it a very strange decision and as things have turned out, it was an early example of his ineptitude.
