Clever / dumb balance in football

For everything intelligent that happens, something thick happens (or vice-versa) to maintain the clever / dumb balance.

For example, Worthington's inept management leads to a 3-1 defeat at Plymouth yesterday. To restore the clever/dumb balance, Cardiff win 3-0 at Southend - good team management helps.

Next weekend, the following will happen: Some smart manager in the Championship will magic a win and on the following Sunday, Nigel Worthington will restore the clever/dumb balance by leading us to a defeat against Burnley, eptiomised by poor management.
