I've always thought the genuinely nice bloke thing is a bit
of a red herring. Is he really? How do people know this? Have they met him in a social setting over a period of time to get to know him?
He was once marked out as a player as a bit of a weirdo, he doesn't appear to have a great network of contacts within the game and appears to have no discernible personality at all.
He has also been the only NCFC manager I know to have consistently stuck two fingers up to the fans. I don't know him either but, from what I do know, I don't think he's any nicer than anyone else and less nice than a great many people.
Now Dave Stringer, he's a really nice bloke.
