Ratings:

Gallacher - 8 - Made several good saves, but shouldn't have had to.

Boyle - 6 - A decent debut, thrown in at the deep end against a decent winger in McAnuff. Tired towards the end.

Shackell - 6 - Better than his last two performances, but kept giving away free-kicks for the same thing, tussling with their strikers from goal kicks. He should have learnt that he couldn't do it with this ref.

Doherty - 6 - Won plenty of ball in the air against two strong strikers, but not as assured as normal.

Colin - 6 - Distribution was somewhat tame and telegraphed. Kept floating in crosses from too deep which were easily dealt with.

McVeigh - 5 - Had a few decent runs in the first half but did NOTHING in the second. Tried to play out of danger on the edge of our box on one occasion and lost the ball which was unforgivable.

Robinson - 4 - May aswell not have been there. Was slow and didn't seem to have his head on today. Made Dickson and Safri's jobs more difficult by not moving.

Safri - 6 - A decent battling display with some tidy passing, but didn't really pull the string like he normally does.

Etuhu - 7 - Our best player. Tussled and toiled in the midfield, very strong on the ball, played some nice balls but didn't have the same happening around him.

Croft - 6 - Was quite effective in the first half but yet again we stopped using him in the second. Put in some good crosses, and unusually some poor ones.

Earnshaw - 5 - Not involved. Isolated by our system. Had 2 decent chances in the first half and scuffed them both. Only had about 4 touches in the seocnd half.

Subs:

Hughes - 5 - One nice touch when he came on, but didn't have enough time to do anything.

Thorne - 4 - Only succeeded in giving away two free-kicks from our goal kicks. For a guy over 6 feet tall, he really is kack in the air.

Jarvis - Didn't have any time to make an impact so I haven't rated him.
