Yeah, it's a bastard - I got burgled in Berlin

I lived on the 5th floor with only one stairwell up to the flat and that in courtyard requiring a key. But they came over the roof onto the balcony and put a half-brick through the glass door. It was pre-furnished, but the bastards only stole what was mine. Worst thing was they took a holdall to carry everything in, which had my passport, driving licence and house keys for back home in a side pocket. Police came & dusted So, read those leaflets and get those window locks fitted!for prints, but I never heard anything.

It was weird for a while afterwards - I used to mock those who claimed they felt violated by a burglary, but it does feel very personal.

Mate of mine was burgled in London - cleaned him out of electronic items: TV, video, HiFi, etc. Couple of months later after the insurance came through, he was hit again: TV, video, HiFi ... Police eventually caught the guy and it was the same bloke both times as he had items from both burglaries.
