The Curate's Egg
[for those who have not heard of this expression - User Posted Link
Good parts - we're 4th. We've played some attractive football. We've learned not to lump it high to Earnie as if he were Deano. We've got rid of some of the deadwood (eg Jarrett). We've bought a right winger and he's good.
Bad parts - we're only 4th because we've had easy games against s**t opposition. We have a ridiculously small squad. Our manager/board seem not to understand how ridiculously small our squad is, or else seem incapable of doing anything about it. Hucks is injured. The "plan" seems to be to plug the gaps with loans, which is (a) uncertain and (b) expensive. Our away form is woeful. Even a fairly indifferent team like Coventry can mark us to a standstill.
Conclusion: midtable beckons.
