The McKenzie Deal

Not that good when you look at it. ?600K now with a further ?400K depending on appearences including, no doubt, being the first player to score on the moon. Posh get some of the cash as well so I doubt that there is much more than ?450K sittin in the bank account this morning.

I think it is important to remember that the dissppointment that is pervading this board is not just about yesterday. It all stemmed from the final game of last season when Worthy claimed that the transfer market shuts down for six weeks so everyone should go away and enjoy the summer. A week later Southampton signed Rasiak, the first of a number of Championship clubs that signed players in May.

That people, is the problem. A totally lacks approach to team stengthening that has seen us start with under strength squads for a number of seasons. It is time for the club to re-evaluate our strategy on transfers. A few months ago I suggested the answer might be to appoint a transfer supremo - somebody who knows how to make things happen and get the deals done. I believe that more than ever now.
