Very reasonable analysis

I was as angry as the next man and could never have believed that the addition of a right winger and a new coach could produce such an astonishing transformation.

Could I be so wrong about the state of the club? And, conversely, did the Board and the KTFers ever believe they could possibly be so right?

My view at the moment is that, ultimately, the manager is responsible for all those under him. If the team get it wrong then he carries the can. Ordinarily, a club hierachy would consider sacking the manager and the coaching team would follow.

But here, the Board recognised that NW still had abilities which were worth retaining just so long as there were clear, fundamental changes to the way the team were prepared. This doesn't just mean swapping one coach for another, but also deals with the day to day of NW's role.

This, admittedly big, change took place because the Board recognised a change was required. They saw the 'day to day' activities which we (obviously) couldn't and decided that the big change we all demanded should most certainly take place - just not in the way we expected.

And fair play to them too. With their greater understanding of the situation, they SHOULD be able to make an informed judgement on the best course of action. It looks like they have done the right thing.

But does this mean we were wrong, or right? I would like to think we demanded change and got it. The KTFers simply stated that things, without the need for sackings, would improve, and it is abundantly clear that if things had simply carried on as before we would still have the same problems.
