Sounds like a clever way to unsettle the player, who appears to want a move to a bigger club (even if it is only in the Championship)
On their official website they mentioned allowing him the opportunity to further his career. Plus, not too sure about their financial situation, but they could probably do with the money if they're going to get relegated almost every season
