have you tried turning it off and on again
normally fixes things like that.
If not, make sure that the speaker icon by your clock (bottom right) doesn't have a red diagonal line through it and that you haven't got headphones or something plugged in by mistake. or maybe there's a manual dial on the side of the laptop to increase/decrease the volume.
If none of those work, you need to reinstall the sound drivers (google will help)
