'Brit' is simply an abbreviation of 'Briton', and is rarely used as an insult. 'Nigger' means 'black', but it is offensive because of the history of its usage.

Its a shame that we can't use paki the same way we use afghanor uzbek, but it's not up to us to decide if it's insulting or not.
