Tax is actually so bad, you dont really go into great detail. If you've ever had to do a self-assessment form already you'll find it a doddle. It's solicitor's accounts thats the eye-gouging topic! All that double-entry (ooh err) bookkeeping.

Property is dull, business is pain by volume, and litigation is fun if thats your bag, just lots of procedure to learn.

Above all the LPC isn't hard in itself. The subject matter is all straight forward and mostly procedural. People only say it's hard because of the volume of work and information, but if you're well organised and actually do the work throughout the course, rather than slacking off and leaving bits to the end like most of us did on the LLB, you wont have a problem with it at all.

Oh, and be prepared to put up with all the arrogant up-their-own-arse types that are destined for the MC type firms. We didnt have many at UWE, but I suspect York will have lots of them.

ps. THE book to buy is the 'LPC Companion'. It's about 30 quid and very useful. Get it when you start, rather than leaving it until revision time, and it should help make some topics clearer. Your notes in theory should be just as good, but it's still helpful to have if you can resist the tempation to just copy chunks out without doing the work yourself first.
