What you using to paint?
B&Q Emulsion White Matt does the trick for us. ?8.50 a tub, half the tub plus about a quarter (no more) of water and a quick stir and away you go.
And if I were you its best to creosote the pitch afterwards - small dots about avery 10 ft should do the trick and the corners etc. You can't actually buy creosote anymore but replacement for creosote does the job - about ?4 from Garden Centre!!
