Good start for Ipswich!

We, on the other hand, were fantastic. Most enjoyment I've had watching us in well over a year. Superb football with passes zipping all over the ground, Etuhu simply a transformed figure in midfield, Safri just being well, Safri. Pure class.

Huckerby doing his thing as usual, Earnshaw being a nightmare for defenders and scoring a wonderful goal and then... Lee Croft. Simply a brilliant debut, we have signed a hell of a prospect there. Genuine right winger.

It took me back to the the halcyon days when we always used to play with two tricky wingers. For Dale Gordon and Ruel Fox, or Fox and Eadie, now read Croft and Huckerby. With those two plus Earnie we simply overwhelmed Preston with our pace.

Only slight worry - whilst the lack of a big striker is forcing us to keep the ball on the floor brilliantly, there are times when we will need more power up fron tas an alternative option. This we simply don't have, so we need somebody before we can properly challenge for promotion long term. Also, whilst the midfield three of Safri, Robinson and Etuhu is looking excellent - we are only ever one injury from the shuddering prospect of Andy Hughes returning to the side.

But all in all - genuine massive strides look to have been made - so now we'll prob lose to Luton.

Worthy Out (well...maybe not actually)
