a fresh start, something that was needed when we came down

Fresh approach to games, fresh ideas about transfer targerts and new set of targets (ie five year plan) to build on achievements

Instead, the negative way we approached the prem, the backing off, the not using players to their strengths (as well as not picking the best players), meant we went into last season with the same caution, the same fear of teams and the same 'safe' transfers (ie, buy another holt in hughes, none of that pretty stuff, get dickson in too, tough tackling, and lets launch it to the front two)

The opportunity for a fresh start existed right up till december last season, the results weren't good enough, the play wasn't good enough and the attitude was appaulling

Instead of that being addressed, full faith in anyone at the club was installed into spin "4 points off the play offs, 5 points off the play offs, 8 points off the play offs" spun so much that at one point preston had 3 games in hand over us and it was reported "norwich are only 5 points off the play offs", fair enough, preston lost 2 of those games and won the other, so Norwich were 8 points off, but in reality they were 9 because preston had a better goal difference

Norwich are back to 01/02 season, the play offs will be a great achievement but this time it will be a reasonable expectation that we could make them, other than promises of every game, match interview and report of last season that we were just a run of games away from getting there, when it was never going to happen
