the wind must remain impartial at all times, especially on a really windy day, like some of the ones we had in 1985.

My analogy was more to do with passion and vehemence (such as in a really strong wind) than the 'way in which the wind would support'.

I hope that this clears things up and that this morning you do not smell too much of garlic, snails, horseburgers and the air that comes out of those grilles in the pavements that makes the ladies skirts fly up.
