And so the waiting is over
After a season of dissapointment last year, I bet many of us could not wait till the world cup. I must admit i was really looking forward to the competition but since england kept stumbling along I lost my passion for the game as a whole. I knew that to reginte this passion with the game I needed the new season to start as soon as possible. And now i have bided my time and here we are the eve of a new season.
New hopes and aspirations, at the moment there seems to be a renewed sense of faith within camp Colney, and personally I am feeling this. I am a person who says to hell with the past, lets put things behind us and get on with the here and now.
It has been a dissapointing summer with only 1 addition, albeit late addition, to the squad in Lee Croft, but what a big signing this could prove to be. A right sided midfielder, something we have been crying out for since Mark Rivers left the club. Now we can see a balanceto the side and we are all praying that there is distribution down this side to feed the likes of McKenzie and Earnie.
As someone pointed out lower down the board, if things dont go as great tomorrow, I hope the fans will have enough sense not to get on the managers back after just one game, if you must jeer him give it, in my view, 4 games at least, and thats 4 league games!!
As for tomorrow i think we will go up there and compete and i can see us snatching a 1-0 win courtesy of a goal from Earnie in the 2nd half. Even though we dont have a lot of additions, and yes we do need a target man, but i think we can compete this year. the pressure is kinda off the team andhopefully they will respond in the correct manner.
Out of this week i will be satisfied with 7 points out of 9, think we will draw against preston, so that wont be a bad start now will it?
