'risk free' isn't the same as 'free'

of course it's going to cost, but we'll be pretty much guaranteed a return on our investment -if he doesn't perform then he doesn't play. I agree that we have to budget for him playing every match, but if after a couple of months he gets injured, we can easily dust our hands and get someone else on board in january for the same wages or less.
