JAY BOTHROYD has joined Wolves on a free transfer.
The former Charlton striker passed a medical last night to become new Molineux manager Mick McCarthy?s first signing.
Bothroyd, 24, had been expected to sign for Wolves? Championship rivals Crystal Palace after an impressive trial spell.
But the hitman, who has played for Arsenal, Coventry and Italians Perugia, was unhappy with the Eagles after manager Peter Taylor stalled on offering him a contract.
Bothroyd was released by Charlton at the end of last season because he did not fit into new boss Iain Dowie?s plans.
