something I think is interesting

our up and coming youngsters - if you read blurb about them they're all ' can do a job here, there and everywhere' - so spillane prefers midfield but can play in defence, central or right. Just a thought but what about actually playing these youngsters solidly in the place they're best - by this stage surely we've identified that although they can play anywhere they do have a preference and a strength. It's like our obsession with out of possession starts right with the youth, and so we never really train them as eg centre backs so they never totally develop the required skills but are 'ok' at several. I know i'm simplifying things, but I'd like to know that we have two midfielders, two strikers, two defenders coming through the ranks rather than six play anywhere players.
