Lack of signings - a different slant
I've been giving this some thought and I personally think that the club could, possibly, benefit from the tight purse strings.
As you all know, Worthy has been very reluctant to give chances to the youth products and all the time the club back him with money, why should he? It's like a mini Chelsea. Now, however, his hand is being forced, hence the 5 kids getting contracts. I for one think that Rossi could possibly fill the fullback position, Spillane could comfortably give Doc and Shak some competition and Eagle on the right wing? Why not? If we fail having tried this, I would be more sympathetic than if Worthy went out and bought another bunch of Hughes', Jarrett's etc.
I say bring it on - Worthy's got nothing to lose now. If we aren't competitive by Xmas, senior signings or not, he's out on his ear so he may as well go out having tried and failed with the kids because he hasn't given that approach a real try yet.
Worth a thought anyway.
