in 2003/4 Drury was captain but Malky was the one organising and shouting at people. On-field leaders will lead whether or not they are captain, and non-leaders (like Drury & Flem) won't even if they ARE made captain. So it is of no significance whatsoever.

The captain's only role is to run out first and call heads or tells when asked.
