Norwich City have played down reports that Wolves have been in touch regarding Nigel Worthington.

Speculation over the weekend claimed Wolves were looking to appoint Worthington as Glenn Hoddle's managerial successor.

"It was suggested the Black Country club had contacted their Championship rivals with a view to gaining permission to speak to Worthington.

But The Canaries have refuted the reports and insist no clubs have been on the phone to ask about the former Northern Ireland international."

Thought it was too good to be true !
