i think the testimonial is a flawed concept these days
when you see someone who has played at a high level for 15 years , who has been well rewarded and who is pretty much set up for a high standard of living in teh future - my thought ( and obviously the thought of others as well ) is not to support such a game , I have no grievance with Flem at all - just think that in today's climate the majority of players do not need testimonials
I do know of a couple of geordies coming down for the match , but with the Intertoto match around that date , they are not keen on a trip here
