I think this is far to obscure/intellectual for a footballer but

it may have been something about the french doing particularly nasty things to the Algerians. As I say footballers are probably not even aware of that though.

HAving said that, there is nothing bad enough to provoke that reaction on the football field. A player of his quality should be able to laugh call him a t**t and then make him look like a fool by beating skinning him next time
