What k don’t understand about yesterday, and must come from the bench, was
The lack of intensity and pressing in our game from the outset.
In the last 15 minutes we started to play with intensity (admittedly helped by them defending their lead) and we actually looked quite good and created a lot of good situations (which we mainly wasted with poor final balls). But there was none of that until then.
I genuinely through that however disappointing the recent results have been, yesterday was a chance to reset and that we would go at them from the opening whistle. Whilst the defeat at Boro was disappointing, at least at that stage we had some real zip about it and gave them a torrid time in spells. Yesterday there was just nothing. No press, just let Pompey out possession us and generally have a comfortable time. This for me is down to the coach. He should be getting them up for it and in their faces.
