I'm with you. We have looked leggy at times and some players don't seem to have the

explosive speed I am used to seeing them have. Cordoba being a case in point. He is getting outpaced by players I would not expect to beat him in a footrace which never used to happen. Others just don't seem to have their usual energy - Matteson for example. I'm sure their running stats are still good but just at key moments they are not winning balls you expect them to win.

I do think there is something in this. i read that some coaches do this on the basis that it has been shown to pay benefits in the second half of the season.
