Of all the "poor starts" to seasons in recent times this is probably the most frustrating

Because everything was/is there for us to do well this season and yet we are still managing to make a mess of it.

I don't think the fixtures have been particularly kind to us in the sense that had we started back after the break with a couple of more winnable games I suspect we might be closer to being back on track. And I really don't think we were as bad last night as is being made out by some. But we were not particularly good either and certainly not as good as we can be or should be.

For me, he has to stop chopping and changing and he has to stop being so over cautious with the "load" for a few games and start Makama.

I also think that it is notable that last season when we faced the "tougher" games we went three in midfield and also think this season our best games or spells in games have been with Wright playing in the more advanced midfield role with two midfielders behind him. I feel for the away games or harder home games for the time being that may be what we need to do. That said, I do think that in the last 15 minutes last night Paris did show some spark and nearly made a few things happen and maybe Pompey at home is the sort of game for him as we should have plenty of the ball.

In any event, anything other than a win on Saturday is completely unacceptable and to my mind brings PC's future under serious question. I do not subscribe to the view that we lack quality. We don't. But we do have a number of quality players who are playing well below the level they should be.
