Very bad choices of names for sure
But they were far from Nazi sympathisers. One of the odder (for want of a better word) things about punk was the wearing of Nazi regalia - you'll find many archive shots of swastika armbands, nazi uniforms, etc. Much of it was for pure shock value rather than any particular political point of view. I can't remember exactly now how JD or NO justified their band names, but I think it was for those reasons.
