All this talk of nostalgia concerts with Oasis......
We did a nostalgia concert last Friday featuring one of my favorite bands Squeeze.
It was an 80s style thing with
Haircut 100, Adam Ant and Squeeze.
Haircut 100 opened, wasn't expecting much but they were actually excellent and sounded really great.
The horn section was top notch and Nick Heyward sounded and looked great.
At 65 he has the fountain of youth.
Here is low res clip someone shot.

Shame when they opened it was only half full.
Next was Adan Ant, now I had already prepared my wife that this might not be good. I had seen some youtube videos of a performance on a 80s cruise where he was not great.
Anyway he was actually much better than expected because he had a great backing band this time.
At 71 he does need to stop doing some of the odd dance moves which are a bit kooky and made my wife LOL.
Not the reaction you want.
Anyway here is a clip I found. Great band.

Anyway onto Squeeze. A band I have seen double digit times.
This was by far the most unusual set I have ever seen them do.
They started off hot with several well known hits and then did a middle section where they played most of their new album Trixies back to back.
It was brave because its easy to lose the casual fan when you play 5 or 6 songs back to back they dont know.
They did finish incredibly strong with hit after hit.
They are also currently touring with a huge band including Glen Tilbrooks son.
One of the largest line ups they have ever had

They still sound amazing.
Somebody actually recorded the whole set which is on youtube.
Great night, I got my fill of 80s nostalgia.
Its clear we have all gotten older together.....
