We don’t have unlimited spending ability and decided to prioritise signing brooks.

Field maybe relatively limited, but would there have been a better option for the same cost? I doubt it.

In an ideal world, we’d have spent £10m on a new CM, sold Kvist and signed Hogh, added another number 10 and sold slimane etc. but we don’t have the financial freedom to do so.

It’s far from easy, but knapper’s signings record looks quite hit and miss. Hard for a club with our means to have a great squad with signings like jurasek and Crnac costing a lot and adding little on the pitch.
